A Thanksgiving Day

Today is Thanksgiving Day. The library and the gym are closed as well as grocery stores. In a particular day like today, I try something different. First, I made a breakfast.
French Toast, Sausage (No Preservative) and Hot Chocolate

After having the breakfast, I read a few chapters in the book “In Search of Time”. I prefer to read books that broaden my knowledge but do not present in too scholarly way. After all, I’m not an expert in this field. If I were, I would not need to read them. Then I have a simple lunch.

Vietnam spring roll. It tastes okay although the shape does not look good. Next time I will do a better job.

Chicken and Onion
In the afternoon, I continue modifying a paper going to submit to a journal. The original version of this paper had been polished in writing. The content, however, is immature. I don’t know what the first author is thinking about, but promise is promise. I have to rewrite it in more scholarly way. Working in the holiday season is a privilege to someone either having a promising future or a miserable status quo.
At night I went to Joe’s home. He and his wife just got a newborn last week. He used to serve us, and today we served him for thanksgiving. I made roast drumsticks and orange jelly.

Potluck

After the party, I went home and worked on the job market paper. I already had the paper, but I have the difficulty to transform it into the LaTex format all because of the long and huge tables. I really made a big mistake for making schedules. Seeking for the third letter of recommendation took me two weeks. Writing another paper took me another one month. Now I don’t know whether I can go to the job market in time. So frustrated and disappointed.

The last job I did today was reorganizing the laptop. I backed up some very important files and  deleted some that would not be used. I also delete some MSN and Skype contacts as well. Keeping the computer as concise as my life.
