Silent Night

This Christmas I got a Christmas card. If my memory is correct, this is my first Christmas card. Maybe it was because I am the only Asian in the church, or maybe she gave a card to everyone. Whatever, it is good to receive blessings from others in the holiday season.

My friend invited me to a party on the Christmas Eve. I made a very valid excuse to decline it. I said I have to prepare for the interviews in the annual meeting in San Diego. This is not really a lie, but I’m not so busy that having no one night available. The truth is just that I am not a fan of big parties.
Today is a day for families. Since I am abroad alone, today is a day for myself. In a silent night like this, I try to think of something about my future. Then I find it is in vain to concern with anything if I have no control of the near future. It seems there is a sound on high: take the challenges and enjoy the gorgeous view of the long beach at San Diego.
