Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins

I preordered the game from Amazon and have played it for a few hours. It is sad to see it doesn’t sell very well. The game critics just give it mediocre grade. It might be because it doesn’t meet people’s expectation, especially the graphics. I agree that the problem frame rate isn’t negligible. Buildings far from some circumferences become obscure, are like dwelling in fog; pedestrians and cars don’t show out until you are close to them enough.

Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins

I have to say that the technical problems don’t ruin gaming experience and enjoyment a lot. The world is vast and divided into unique areas. Each area is beautiful and worth roaming and searching for small collectibles. Because this is Lego, the protagonist can have crazy disguises and abilities. He can be an astronaut with a stunning gun or a farmer with a chicken that spits out eggs. The game could cost a player least 30 hours to complete. I imagine if beating innocents and get chased by the police cars in the game are possible, like Grand Thief Auto, then it would have more re-playable value and deserve better reviews although the Lego Company couldn’t approve these ideas for the sake of its image.

Whatever others say, I think Lego City Undercover is a good game. I give it 80 out of 100. And I am surely I will give the Wii U version a try after owning a console.
