The flight was delayed for five hours. When waiting for the aircraft being fixed, there was a flash moment in my brain telling me why I don't cancel the trip if applicable. Thankfully, I didn't do that and the airline wouldn't allow to give the refund. So I am here, in Raleigh.
The First Meal
A night party awaited right after the day I arrived. In the house whose owner was absent for a trip, we drank one dozen locally brewed beer and wine , like crazy undergraduates. It was not enough to have only four in the party, so we invited older Joe in Japan to have a cyber-party with us through Skype. We kept drinking and talking something nonsense until the morning twilight prevailed.
I shared my stories I experienced in China with them, including how embarrassing to date a girl with a boyfriend. The good thing is I don't need to fly to meet her anymore.
Two days later, I met Professor Chu and Dr. Walker in their offices. Although they are senior, talking with them is relaxing.
Aside from meetings, I do some jobs either in the library, my previous second home, or at Steve's office. In the evening I come back to the apartment borrowed from younger Joe. Occasionally I reserved hours for friends who also spent time being together with me. Without them, the trip would be impossible and meaningless. Cheer for them.
