Dead or Alive: Dimensions

While looking for research data, I found a game amusing enough to save my dying life. I’m not a big fan of fighting games. I was once addictive to Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat for a while. Then came back to playing adventure and role-playing games.

I bought Dead or Alive: Dimensions (DOAD) for a few reasons. First, it is rare that fighting games are highly expected on a handheld. They had caught players’ eyes. DODA follows Super Street Fighter IV 3D (SSFIV3D) to be the second famous fighting game launched on 3DS, and Tekken VI will be the third. Second, DOAD is said to be the best in the series since DOA2 on Dreamcast. SSFIV3D had showed a handheld fighting game could be comparable to its console counterpart. But its static background really sucks. DOAD emphasizes what SSFIV3D lacks, dynamic and vivid battlefields. Third, the game is on sale in Amazon, 50% off.

Controversial Box Art

DOA could be the first franchise in this genre with some many female characters. I extracted some photos from my album saved in the SD card.

Ryu from Ninja Gaiden. No necessary to be in the game.

Kasumi, the protagonist of DOA. No matter how people laugh at her fat face, I think she is cute.

Ayane, Kasumi’s half-sister and rival

Hitomi power up!
